[DEFINITION]:(3R,4S,5S,6R,7R,9R,11R,12R,13S,14R)-4-[(2,6-Dideoxy-3-C-methyl-3-O-methyl-¦Á -L-ribo-hexop-yranosyl)oxy]-14-ethyl-12,13-dihydroxy-7-methoxy-3,5,7,9,11,13-hexam-ethyl-6-[[3,4,6-trideoxy-3-(dimethylamin)-¦Â-D¨Cxylo-hexopyranosyl]oxy]oxacyclotetrade-cane-2,10-dione(6-O-methylerythromycin A).
[CHARACTERS]:Appearance: white or almost white,crystalline powder.
Solubility: practically insoluble in water ,soluble in acetone and in methylene chloride,slightly soluble in methanol.
[FUNCTION]: ¡¤Klarithran is indicated for the treatment of the following mild to moderate serere infections caused by susceptible organisms:
¡¤Lower respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia.
¡¤Upper respiratory tract infections such us pharyngitis and sinusitis.
¡¤Mild to moderately serere acute otitis media due to S.pneumoniae,m. caterrhalis and H. influenza.
¡¤Skin and soft tissue infections such as folliculitis,cellulites or erysipelas.
¡¤Eradication of Helicobacter pylori when used in combination with a proton pump inhibitor and another antibiotic to decrease recurrence of duodenal ulcer.
